Her
latest recognized painting: “Island Cat” an
original oil painting by Irene Bailey-Wells, was unveiled
April 8th, 2006 at a reception in her honor. Irene donated
her painting as a fundraiser for Island Cat Allies of
Emerald Isle, a volunteer non profit organization that
believes in trap-neuter/vaccinate-return (TNR) FOR Bogue
Banks’ feral cat population. They operate a program
of Id, education, spay/neuter, and adoption or release
to native habitat via Colony Keepers, dedicated volunteers
who feed, provide medical care and love to these furry
island residents. Many second homeowners adopt these island
kitties and bring them to their inland homes.
