This Series was painted on the Eve of 2000 when there was
a lot of speculation as to what the ramifications might
be when the clock stuck 12:00, 2000. The excitement in the
city was very high; you could feel the electricity in the
air. Irene, as she captures the sights and feelings of the
evening, her paintings project this momentous moment in
time.
The "Twin Towers" painting was added in September
2001. Deeply touched by the tragedy of 9-11, as was all
of America, Irene wanted to add a personal memorial to the
Series with her painting of the former Twin Towers.
