These paintings were painted for William
Belk, owner of Belk Department Stores. The three paintings
hang on the second story foyer, visible from the front door.
The initial idea for the paintings stemmed from a piece
of torn wallpaper but quickly was enhanced to include some
of their favorite images. The enchanting English garden
motif comes from their extensive travels abroad. The center
painting features the Belk’s favorite castle in England
and the side paintings enhance it with regal Peacocks.
